The foundation of Dawkes is based on repairs which has given us a critical insight into the quality of instrument manufacture. This, together with feedback from instrument teachers, gives us the perfect information base to assist you in choosing the right instrument.

We are constantly looking at new models sent by manufacturers who would like us to list them in our catalogue. But many instruments do not make the grade following evaluation by our repair department who look carefully at the build quality and thoroughly test for acoustic faults. This is why we do not accept advertising in our catalogue as this may cloud your vision.

We do select many instruments from the three largest manufactures, Yamaha, Buffet, and Jupiter as the research and resources they put into each instrument assures an excellent quality standard with warranty and back-up.

Although we select top quality instruments we always fully check each instrument and adjust each one to play perfectly.

Ensuring the instrument works correctly is one aspect, but we can further help you with our monthly rental plan and a buy back scheme where you can take advantage of large discounts.

Most companies offer short term refunds but, because we are so confident about the products we sell, we guarantee to buy the instrument back at any time at the prevailing market prices.

When it comes to buying power it enables us to give you the best deals. However, we still think of ourselves as a family firm, albeit now in our third generation, who intend to be here long into the future and whenever you may need us.
