As with the YPC-81 the body is made from Grenadilla wood and hand finished to a very high standard. Unlike the YPC-81 the YPC-82 this model has a precious metal head that gives the player an increase in response, a more powerful tone with better projection. A high number of professionals use the YPC-82 as the precious metal headjoint design makes it easy to switch between flute and piccolo quickly.

The YPC-82 is the perfect doublers instrument making it easy to change from flute to piccolo with ease. The Precious metal headjoint and lip plate gives the instrument a rich focused tone at the same time as giving the player more projection. The headjoint is the key to this instrument success and today there are many professional players who prefer this model compared to many other manufactures models.
