The Yamaha YAS 275 is our best selling beginner sax, and has been for years.
Why? Well it ticks all the boxes, it's so well made, which in turn makes it easy to own and play.
A history of investment in hi-tech machinery and development specialists helps Yamaha stay ahead of the pack and produce consistently excellent beginner saxophones.
But what does this actually mean for the player?
When buying a saxophone for a beginner it's vital that the instrument chosen lends a helping hand rather than obstructing progress.
The build quality and internal design of the Yamaha YAS-275 literally makes producing a good sound easier.
It also has excellent tuning so when you do start to play in grade exams or with other people you'll sound great!
And this ease of use in the early stages can make the difference between carrying on and progressing or not, when you're investing in lessons etc you can't afford to be on an instrument that isn't giving you the best possible chance.
Dawkes supply the YAS-275 with all the relevant accessories to start playing; all the instruments are prepared for you to receive it 'ready to blow'.
These Yamaha 275 Saxophones can take players to the later grade exams with no problem or play in adult bands and groups. Invest in quality, it will help YOU!
Any Yamaha Saxophone purchased from Dawkes is automatically covered by our exclusive customer satisfaction promise:
"I have always recommended Yamaha YAS275 saxophones to pupils.
The consistency in build quality and performance, both tonally and in intonation, have always been unmatched at that price point...or indeed any other beginner Saxes." Paul Nathaniel - Professional Saxophonist; Ronnie Scotts Big Band, London Symphony Orchestra, Wellington College (Sax Tutor)
"The Yamaha YAS275 is such a great instrument; so reliable, very easy to play and they hold their value well.
I've dealt with Dawkes for over 20 years and it's just so useful to be able to recommend students to a shop where you know the instruments have been set up properly before you buy them.
The on-site workshop is especially useful as any small adjustments can be made so quickly and professionally."
Simon Carr - Professional Woodwind Player; Head of Woodwind & Brass at Radley College, Oxford.
"I bought my Yamaha Sax from Dawkes about 9 months ago...I couldn't decide between a Tenor and Alto,
I am so pleased that I picked Alto, as it's lighter, easier to play and not as much breath needed to produce the notes.
I am preparing for my Grade 1 in jazz saxophone, at the moment practicing "Sonnymoon for two" and should be ready within about six months.
Anyone who is interested in playing a sax, my advice is learn on an alto, buy the best you can afford and take lessons. Finally never give up!"

The instruments that we stock are chosen from high quality manufacturers,
these instruments may travel hundreds or thousands of miles to us though from the manufacturing plant.
We assess the instruments in our workshops and make any necessary technical adjustments to ensure all the moving parts are balanced and working correctly.
Our skilled technicians and musicians take each instrument through a unique multi-point check that ensures you receive it 'ready to go' for your next lesson or performance.

All instruments we sell are covered by a minimum of 1 year warranty. What does this cover?
