This mute is designed for orchestral and more classical uses, or simply those wanting a warmer tone when using a straight mute. It has a copper end to add some warmth and tonal complexity to the sound. The copper tones down the liveliness of an aluminium mute which can make it blend better in certain orchestral or band circumstances.
