This square lead block is useful for using as a 'soft' but stable surface for spring removal, pin removal or other hammering work on pillars and keys. The key will sink into the lead rather than deform on a harder surface.
Excellent surface when punching out disks of cork/felt/leather, the lead will give way and not blunt your tool.
