This is a great playing example of this classic Selmer 10 Series design. Originally 'inspired' by the Buffet R13 smaller bore style of design, the Series 10 offered players a flexible and responsive tone that was ideal in many musical scenarios from orchestral to jazz.
Produced in France from the finest quality grenadilla, the Series 10 was Selmer's professional model and it began to increase their market share in the more classical world. Before this point the Selmer range had been regarded as primarily jazz only Clarinets, the Series 10 spanned the gap nicely by offering a more easily controllable instrument to the classical players, yet still appealing to commercial players because of its characteristic Selmer sweet sound.
This particular example, dating from the early 1970's, has been fully re-padded and given a pro service prior to sale. This ensures the Clarinet is in absolutely optimal playing order and ready for you to enjoy. The wood is in great condition for the age and the instrument has been well maintained and cared for in its life.
In summary, an excellent option for any upgrading clarinet player. You might be considering a new intermediate model (Buffet E13 for example) but for a similar price you could get a pre-owned pro model like this Selmer Series 10 which would arguably offer a more flexible, and interesting tone.
