The Etude 3 is a lightweight thumb rest for clarinet and Oboe made out of durable plastics. This is the SMALL VERSION designed for smaller hands.

The Etude 3 enhances the freedom of playing by better positioning the weight of the instrument. This leads to faster and easier movement of the ring and little fingers and it prevents fatigue of the thumb and hand.

This Kooiman clarinet thumbrest will give you a sense of control, resulting in much of the energy used for supporting the weight of the instrument becoming available for handling the instrument, and can be used to improve control and speed of finger technique.

The Etude 3 comes with screws to attach the back plate to your instrument through the existing holes from the original thumb rest, this generally means you don't have to drill any new holes. If the holes do not line up, our workshop technicians are able to assist.
