Denis Wick Ultra Trumpet Mouthpiece

I'm very impressed with the ultra - the sizing is spot on, the weight and feel is exactly as i hoped for, it is a heavy-ish top so not extreme but certainly adds some body and depth of tone to my sound, and whilst the rim has a little extra width and is therefore quite comfortable, it is not like some very wide, flat brands i also tried that actually locked on too tight and reduced flexibility significantly. Overall this is a great product and I am only sad that they seem to have abandoned the 1.25 size on cornet as that means a jump from the 3c or 1.5c (at 16.75) to the 1c (at 17.25mm) and each with a very different rim shape and feel too. If I had one criticism of this range it is that there appears to be no consistency across the rim profiles. The 1.5c cornet was very uncomfortable as the outer edge fell away quickly in an arc, meanging it felt much sharper than either this 1.25c trumpet or the 3c cornet, which is flatter than both. Very odd, and something they ought to sort out as changing size should not really mean such a big change in feel too.
