These nylon guides can also be installed on old Boosey/Besson brass instruments with pre-existing brass Tacquets. This eliminates the lateral metal-on-metal 'clatter' of older style valve guides.
To install these guides on a compatible instrument, the guide receiver hole needs to be drilled out to 2.6mm. The hole can then be tapped to either 5BA or M3 with a 0.5 pitch. The guide will then thread in nicely and the face/edges can be filed to achieve a perfect, smooth running fit.
Do not try to install these guides on an instrument without Tacquet style guides.
