The European Cut Series for Clarinet is the next advancement in Légère synthetic reed development. The reed is characterised by a slightly shorter and wider vamp that is comfortable in the embouchure. There is a band of extra material along the spine that provides rigidity without compromising the reed's free blowing nature or high register stability.
The European Cut Series is designed specifically for French mouthpieces and will not work on most German mouthpieces.
Legere European Cut Clarinet Reed
Suitable for most Vandoren Clarinet Mouthpieces
Also can be used on Selmer and other (non German) European made mouthpieces
Very durable material - can last months
We find synthetic reeds commonly more suited to closer facing mouthpieces requiring less of the reed to flex
Please refer to the strength chart pictured for comparison to other reeds

Great reed. sounds nice to my ear and no licking or sucking on cane!

I haven’t found the best mouthpiece for this yet.

I took to this brand of reed straight away. In addition to the consistency of sound and quality, it just makes a better sound for me than cane reeds. Expensive, but a worthwhile investment

Works well on my clarinet

I can\'t imagine the hours that I have spent searching through cane reeds, filing and balancing etc. Using the Legere is bliss! I have two Legere European cut reeds, strength 2.75 and a 3, and find that the 2.75 works well with a Vandoren B40 and a 3 with the M30. (I can\'t make them work on my Hawkes-Backun mouthpiece though. The top notes don\'t come out.) I plan to buy one every 4 months because apparently they can go \"stale\"
