The Adler 1356 is a high quality short reach bassoon made by the long established Oscar Adler & Co team in Germany. It is made from long-matured Bosnian maple with a lacquered body, and it is the model we point younger players towards when reach is the limiting factor.

The short reach system uses a German 24 key layout with specific modifications that help smaller hands get around the instrument comfortably while still promoting good finger position. That matters, because a player struggling to reach is a player learning bad habits. It has excellent tuning, a rich solid tone and is genuinely easy to play, with five rollers, a high D key, an Ab key for the right thumb and a second Bb key.

This particular example is in excellent condition with the wood and varnish looking amazing. The keywork also looks great with very few signs of previous use. Like all our pre-owned instruments it has been fully checked and set up in our workshop prior to sale by one of our experienced technicians, so you can buy with total confidence.

It is supplied with the original Oscar Adler hard case and an original Adler no.2 crook. Also provided are multiple nice reed cases, a padded neck strap with an open hook and a collapsible stand.
