This Bach Stradivarius long model Bb Cornet is a real unusual treat of an instrument. Designed in the classic USA style, these long model cornets have a medium-large bore (.459") but due to the different wrap to a ‘traditional shepherds crook’ design they do offer a different tonal response. This cornet features the classic 37 bell taper for a well rounded, versatile tone.
Commonly preferred by jazz musicians wanting that authentic small group American jazz sound, this pre-owned Bach long model Stradivarius is fairly rare to find in the UK. The lacquer of this model shows some wear throughout, the majority of the instrument showing the lovely rich gold lacquer Bach were known for, with patches around the crook of the bell, the mouthpiece receiver and contact points on the valves where the lacquer has work through to the brass beneath. This is consistent with an instrument that has been played and loved since the early 1980s.
Like all our pre-owned brass instruments it has been fully checked and serviced in our workshop prior to sale. This ensures you can buy with confidence knowing the valves, slides and all moving parts have been fully checked and optimised.
