Besson have been making brass band instruments since 1837 and remain the default name in British banding. The Prodige range is their student line, designed to give a young player a proper instrument rather than a compromise, and the BE1052 is the Eb tenor horn from that range.
It is designed as an entry level horn with the young brass player in mind, and gives a student the chance to develop the traditional and unique sound that is characteristic of Besson. It has a .466 inch bore and an 8 inch yellow brass bell, with three stainless steel top sprung pistons and an easy blowing leadpipe. The intonation is excellent, which is the quickest way to build confidence in any brass player, and it will comfortably take a student up to around Grade 6. It is a popular choice for training bands, wind orchestras and music services for exactly those reasons.
