The Boosey & Hawkes Symphony 1010 clarinet is an excellent example of what the post-war clarinettist wanted from their instrument thanks to the changing preferences in orchestral and soloistic playing of the time. It's large-bore design offers a very big ‘English’ sound, perfect for an orchestral or soloistic player needing to project to the back of a large concert venue. Due to the large-bore design modern small-bore mouthpieces won't feel all too comfortable to use on these instruments, so you will need to make use of the included large-bore mouthpieces to unlock the majestic sound that these clarinets can produce.

Made in England, these clarinets have stood the test of time and are in fantastic condition. Some small signs of previous use are visible, but overall they have been very well looked after by their previous owner. The condition of the wood is excellent with no signs of hairline cracks. Both instruments have had an extensive overhaul and service in our on-site workshop and feel amazing to play.

We have had many B&H 1010's come though our doors over the years, whether that is to be serviced or to be sold. The history of this model speaks for itself.
