Buffet XXI - Bb Clarinet (747790)

Product Information

The Buffet XXI clarinet is Buffet’s newest flagship model and offers various appealing design elements. Featuring an extra note, the XXI can produce a low Eb via a slightly longer bottom joint than standard (accommodated by slightly shortening the bell to keep the intonation in check), this additional note can also be used to create a third fingering for the tricky middle register Bb. The top joint has also been redesigned to offer a raised C/G tone hole to help the balance of the left hand and clean up those notes. The tone hole slots on the top joint also feature Greenline slots to help avoid cracking. The instrument as a whole features a mix of GX pads and natural cork pads and a combination of silver and gold plating throughout the mechanism.

 

This particular instrument plays very well with the rich tone we’ve come to expect from the Buffet XXI. The clarinet has been checked and set-up by both our workshop and directly by Buffet and we’re confident in the playability of the instrument however there are a number of aesthetic marks throughout which, whilst not affecting the sound of the instrument, may lightly affect the overall feel.
