Cabart were founded in 1893 and were for many years a respected French wind instrument maker in their own right. The name was bought by F. Lorée in 1974 and Cabart is now Lorée's student and intermediate brand, which means these instruments carry the experience of one of the great professional oboe makers in Paris.

The Model 74 is a graduate conservatoire instrument aimed at intermediate to advanced players. It is renowned for a full, rich tone and stable tuning, and although it is lighter in weight than a full professional model it carries most of the keywork you would find on one. It is an ideal upgrade from a beginner oboe and will take a player comfortably to advanced student level and beyond.

This particular example is in overall good condition. The paint in the 'Cabart 74 A.Paris' logos is fading a bit but this is of course wholly aesthetic. The wood looks great and the keywork has no noticeable blemishes or marks on it. Like all our pre-owned instruments it has been fully checked and set up in our workshop prior to sale by one of our experienced technicians, so you can buy with total confidence.

It is supplied with an original Cabart hard inner case which can be used by itself as it has a carry handle, but this outfit comes with a nice fabric outer case too, made by NAP Paris, with a large outer pocket for any extra accessories. No reeds or pull-throughs are included.
