Flute and Piccolo Head Swedging Dies were designed to shrink the tenons that have been over expanded. These dies can also be used to remove ridges and dents from tenons that have been previously improperly repaired. The proper sized die should be firmly held by a vise. Use cork grease as lube on the tenon. Tighten the adjusting screw so the die barely closes on the tenon. Work the tenon. Then move it back and forth in the die with a semi-rotating motion. Test fit, often. The N77A fits most standard flutes. This die has a 20mm hole and is 1 long

Superb tool for achieving the perfect fit on both footjoint and head joint. No vice required, it was easy to use on solid silver. Make sure you apply cork grease to all surfaces of flute joint and tool before using
I use in conjunction with Flute Joint Expander to perfectly reshape damaged tenons. Make sure you check fit regularly as you can easily over do it. When you see the tool, you will understand and appreciate its cost...well worth it.
