Product Information

Originally introduced in 1994, the Renard Artist Model 240D has become a favourite for high level upgraders, serious amateurs and aspiring profession Bassoonists. Made 100% in the USA from select aged Red Maple it features a full German key system in silver plate (full spec below).

The Model 240D shares many of the soloistic characteristics of the elite level 201D. It is flexible, free and easy to play with a beautiful tone with plenty of clean projection throughout the range. It has a short bore design which helps enable the vibrant flexibility and clarity of tone. This is a contrast to the 250D model which has a long bore design with a different tone and response accordingly.

The Fox Bassoon company was originally started in 1949 when professional player Hugo Fox retired from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He set out to make double reed instruments that would satisfy the most discerning artists. Today, the Fox company continue the art of hand-crafting instruments in the same place it all started: South Whiley, Indiana, USA.
