The European Cut Signature Series for Bass Clarinet is the next advancement in Légère synthetic reed development. The reed is characterized by a slightly shorter and wider vamp that is comfortable in the embouchure. There is a band of extra material along the spine that provides rigidity without compromising the reed's free blowing nature or high register stability.
The European Cut Signature Series for Bass is designed specifically for the most common modern day European design Bass Clarinet mouthpieces.

Wow I can honestly say I am now converted from cane reeds for the most part. I thought I’d give the Legere reeds a go given all the hype. Cane reeds especially the Vandoren v21 for bass don’t seem to last long for me and was soon loosing their optimum playability after a few hours. I immediately noticed the instant response from the synthetic reeds. I feel there is a time and a place for cane to be used as it does give you that warmer undertone and a bit of fuzz similar to a vinyl record. But the Legere is instant in its response. I have now tried these on all my instruments and love them for practice and for when cane is not needed. There is no detriment to sound from what I can notice it’s just different no worse or better particularly. The playability of the synthetic is excellent I can play a high Altissimo G with very little effort. I have found this to also be similar across the board with my Bb clarinet and Eb Clarinet also. All in all a fantastic advancement in synthetic reed technology as the last one I tried about 15 years ago was absolutely dreadful. I Would highly recommend anyone pondering trying one of these just give it a go. The European cut and French cut work very well for me and the American cut on saxophone works well also. On clarinet I am using a vandoren BD5 mouthpiece and Vandoren optimum ligature on all clarinet setups with excellent results. Highly recommended ????????
I like using Legere reeds and they seem to be consistently reliable
Excellent bass clarinet reeds. Much more controllable and less squeak-prone than any cane reed I’ve tried, especially in middle & higher registers. They also last a long time, so although they appear expensive, they last many times longer than the equivalent cane reed. Usually I avoid using synthetic products where natural / renewable equivalents are available, but these are so much better on the bass than cane reeds, I don’t mind making an exception.
The supplier responded:Thank you for leaving an in depth and positive review on the Legere Bass clarinet reeds!
High notes much easier with the slightly harder reed.
Reed was so easy to play as doesn’t need any playing in . Legere Reed chart makes it easy to choose the right strength.
