Product Information

The European Cut Signature Series for Bass Clarinet is the next advancement in Légère synthetic reed development. The reed is characterized by a slightly shorter and wider vamp that is comfortable in the embouchure. There is a band of extra material along the spine that provides rigidity without compromising the reed's free blowing nature or high register stability. 

The European Cut Signature Series for Bass is designed specifically for the most common modern day European design Bass Clarinet mouthpieces. 

  • Very durable, can last months 
  • Please refer to the strength chart pictured for comparison to other reeds 
  • We find synthetic reeds commonly more suited to closer facing mouthpieces requiring less of the reed to flex

Excellent bass clarinet reeds. Much more controllable and less squeak-prone than any cane reed I’ve tried, especially in middle & higher registers. They also last a long time, so although they appear expensive, they last many times longer than the equivalent cane reed. Usually I avoid using synthetic products where natural / renewable equivalents are available, but these are so much better on the bass than cane reeds, I don’t mind making an exception.

Reed was so easy to play as doesn’t need any playing in . Legere Reed chart makes it easy to choose the right strength.
