The preferred method of pad fixing is by stick Shellac or Hot Melt glue because the setting is instant as soon as the key cools down. Liquid Shellac takes many hours to harden and may be suitable for applications where you need flexibility. It can also be used for securing tip rings to Clarinets.

Liquid Shellac - 50ml Pot Reviews
Anonymous review via Feefo - 2025-08-31
Excellent product less mess and ease of use,as long as you’re not in a hurry I would recommend it more than heating up shellac, and giving more control over seating pads is so beneficial. Seller always on time and good on price

I have used Evostick impact adhesives for my replaced saxophone pads and that seems a good solution, but I will try the shellac for future repairs. I think that is what was originally used.
