The G4 is the newest member of the ReedGeek Universal family. It utilizes state of the art, 100% USA alloy with very high vanadium carbide content for exceptionally good wear resistance. 

With the beautiful “Black Diamond” wear finish fostering a smooth “buttery” glide to the cut, the G4 excels on both natural cane and all synthetic reeds. Exciting features include a newly designed length with a comfortably rounded back scraper (for further adjustment options), a radius tip for precision work and two contoured and curved rail bevels (specially designed to profile rails and re-contour the spine & heart of both single and double reeds). With advanced profiling abilities such as these, the G4 is a must for every serious reed player!

I have played the saxophone for a couple of decades now and never made adjustments to my reeds before buying this. I bought a reed cutter once but it never gets used. With the reed geek however, I have managed to get 90% of the reeds that don't play well out of a new box of reeds to be perfectly usable. Shame it has gone up in price to over £60. Sure you could try sandpaper to do the same job but this is quick, convenient, and gives consistent results. Aside from price the other drawback is that it is so small and the case I got with the first one was not substantial so I ended up losing it. Hence I am now on here buying another one!!
