Schilke are best known for their trumpets, but the ST30 shows the same approach applied to the trombone. Founded by Renold Schilke, formerly principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony, the company has built a reputation over more than sixty years for precision of manufacture and consistency of result.

The ST30 is Schilke's small bore tenor, with a .500 inch bore and an 8 inch hand hammered bell. It comes with three interchangeable lead pipes running from tightest to most open, so the player can dial in the resistance they want, along with a removable counterweight. It is a professional jazz and commercial horn, and the combination of a hand hammered bell and a genuinely adjustable setup makes it unusually adaptable for a small bore instrument.

This particular example is in good condition. Like all our pre-owned instruments it has been fully checked and set up in our workshop prior to sale by one of our experienced technicians, so you can buy with total confidence.

It is supplied with the original hard Schilke Trombone case. No mouthpiece is supplied with this instrument. Also included are the 3x original interchangeable lead pipes that change the response of the instrument - try them out and see which one you prefer!
