The Selmer Mark VI is the most celebrated saxophone ever made. Produced in Paris from 1954, it is the horn that defined the sound of modern saxophone playing and the benchmark against which every other saxophone is still measured.
Players spend years chasing the Mark VI character, that combination of a rich, complex core, immediate response and a key action that feels alive under the hand. Each one is slightly different, which is part of the appeal, and a good example remains a genuinely professional instrument rather than a museum piece. On a Mark VI the serial and the year of manufacture matter, as they affect both the character of the horn and its value.
This particular example has been well-loved during it's life with patches of lacquer wear and scratches all down the body of the instrument. A few pads have been changed but majority were already in good condition. The keywork is comfortable and feels super smooth. Like all our pre-owned instruments it has been fully checked and set up in our workshop prior to sale by one of our experienced technicians, so you can buy with total confidence.
It is supplied with a moulded fabric case with shoulder strap for convenient carrying. NO mouthpiece included and supplied with original neck. At this price it represents a considerable saving on the new equivalent, and it is ready to play from the moment it arrives.
