The Selmer MKVII came hot on the heels of the classic and revered MKVI in the mid 1970's. The layout is slightly different under the hands and it feels very much like any modern Saxophone today, yet with elements of that vintage Selmer sound.
Due to the vintage age of this model, there are many areas where the lacquer is worn, which you can see on the alternate images. This instrument has been well-loved, and has been slightly adapted in terms of the slightly raised octave key to adjust the ergonomics for the previous player. The mechanics feel solid and comfortable under the fingers, and is a beautiful free-blowing saxophone, perfect for the jazz scene. An ideal instrument for any pro player looking for a classic model with modern elements.
In summary, this is a great blowing example of these classic models. Like all MKVII's, this Tenor has a rich, full and vibrant sound. Like all our secondhand saxophones, care has been taken in the workshop for this vintage instrument to be fully checked and set-up prior to sale.
