The Selmer SA80 Series II is the horn that carried the Selmer name through the 1980s and 1990s and remains a mainstay of professional playing. Made in Paris, it took the Mark VI heritage and gave it a more even scale, a more secure altissimo and a modern key layout.
It has a warm, dense core to the tone with plenty of projection, and it responds well to whatever mouthpiece you put on it. Classical players value it for its evenness and its blend, jazz players for the weight of sound, and it has been the standard conservatoire instrument for a generation. A well maintained Series II is a horn that will see out a career.
This particular example is in fantastic condition with only minimal lacquer wear on the octave key and RH side keys - otherwise it is in great shape. Like all our pre-owned instruments it has been fully checked and set up in our workshop prior to sale by one of our experienced technicians, so you can buy with total confidence.
It is supplied with the original Selmer case and neck strap. No mouthpiece is included. At this price it represents a considerable saving on the new equivalent, and it is ready to play from the moment it arrives.
