These Tipple oboe reeds are comfortable and easy to play. Handmade in England from hand-gouged Cogolin cane, tied on to 47mm brass staples. The Tipple Oboe reeds have a typical u-shape scrape which creates a free, round sound. The cane is Cogolin which is reliable and consistent, all in all they are very good reeds, especially suited for beginners and intermediate players.
Available in:
Soft reeds - free, easy blowing, have good intonation and tone, and are especially suitable for beginners.
Medium-Soft reeds - a good body, responsive and full tone, and secure intonation. They will suit intermediate players and upwards.
Medium reeds - a good body, responsive and round sound. They will suit players looking for a more substantial reed with a little more depth and resistance.

I bought a soft reed on their advice and it was definitely the right decision, it's so much easier to play than my previous reed.

A bit raucous to begin with..needed "tweaking" to get a nice sound...maybe not the right reed for me!
