Vandoren has designed the 13 Series mouthpiece range specifically for American clarinetists using A440 pitch. However, it can be successfully used in other areas—many Buffet R13 players choose the 13 Series to lower the pitch slightly. The 13 Series range features the Profile 88 beak design, which has a shallower angle than standard Vandoren series mouthpieces. This is highly personal to the player, and we recommend testing both Profile 88 and standard beak shapes to see what suits your embouchure best.
Originally designed in M13, M13 Lyre, M15 and M30, the 13 Series is now available in most standard Vandoren sizes, providing players with a comprehensive selection for all playing styles and preferences. All 13 Series mouthpieces feature the shallower Profile 88 beak shape and are hand-finished in France using quality ebonite, machined to the highest tolerances.

I didn't like this mouthpiece at all as it didn't give the darker sound that I was looking for. On my clarinet (Selmer), there was nothing to make me prefer this to any other mouthpiece I've tried .... but that may just be me!
