Product Information

Vandoren has designed the 13 Series mouthpiece range specifically for American clarinettists using A440 pitch. It can however be successfully be used in other areas, notably many Buffet R13 players like to use the 13 series to lower the pitch slightly.

The 13 series all have the Profile beak design which has a shallower angle than the standard Vandoren series mouthpieces. This is quite personal to the player and we recommend testing both standard and profile beak shapes to see what suits your embouchure best.

The M13, M13 Lyre, M15 and M30 were originally designed to compliment the 13 Series, however Vandoren now offer other standard facings in the 13 Series bore design to play at A440.

I didn't like this mouthpiece at all as it didn't give the darker sound that I was looking for. On my clarinet (Selmer), there was nothing to make me prefer this to any other mouthpiece I've tried .... but that may just be me!
