The Vandoren traditionals are well known for their excellent response and flexibility across the range of the instrument allowing for a wide tonal and dynamic spectrum. The cut of the traditional reed allows for quick precise staccato and easy execution of large interval jumps whilst retaining warmth and sonority in the overall tone.

When buying a box of these reeds you have to accept that at least 3 will be of a poorer standard and do not hold up to playing on. The remainder are of good quality in my opinion having used them for years.
some of these reeds do vary in quality quite a lot. this does not mean that they are bad but for example in a box of 10 only half would be as expected, maybe 2/3 others can be manipulated & the other 2 more or less un useable .
The supplier responded:Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate it can be frustrating with reeds due to the natural aspect of their constitution. We can only reassure you that Vandoren go to great lengths to try and offer consistency, however if you are constantly having issues we'd be happy to pass on your feedback to them.
