The range bridges bass clarinet with playing characteristics of alto and soprano instruments, allowing seamless transitions between them. Each model combines proven Vandoren acoustic design with exacting craftsmanship suited to diverse musical contexts.

Five models offer distinct sonic profiles. The B44 emphasises easy blowing with a medium facing. The B45 and B40 share identical tip openings and facings but differ in tip rail geometry: B45 prioritises responsiveness, whilst B40's wider tip rail creates compact, centred tone. The B46 delivers powerful projection favoured by jazz musicians. The B50 produces rich, velvety sound with excellent upper register presence, ideal for orchestral and chamber work.
