Reeds just as expected - used them for years
These reeds are a perfect match to my mouthpiece and they suit me as a fairly new player. I expect to be hitting the heights of 2.5 soon. Vandoren reeds are high quality in my experience and have a good playing life when compared to other, less expensive brands.
The recommended Vandoren reed seems fine, but I haven't had the chance to do a lot of playing using this reed.
I still would like to know when the Gonzalez reeds becomes available.

I love these Vandoren Jazz reeds. Good quality and sound. For me and some of my fellow saxophonists these are the best around at the moment.
Since the ZZ reeds first came out I was hooked and I haven't looked back since. They have the raunchy edge of the Rico Jazz Select, yet they maintain the clarity and brightness of the Vandoren Java. They are easy to blow and last ages. I use these straight out the packet and they sound amazing!
