Vandoren’s ever popular Optimum ligature for Clarinet is now available in a stunning pink gold plate. The Optimum design offers an opportunity to adjust the sound, using the 3 interchangeable pressure plates. The ligature has a solid single screw design, to allow quick and precise adjustment, whilst ensuring consistent hold and pressure on the reed.
Whether playing classical or jazz, the Optimum Ligature’s 3 pressure plates will accommodate your style:
A rich, colourful sonority which produces great resonance. Pressure along the fibre of the reed facilitates an unbelievable blowing ease. Incredible ease of articulation. A more compact, centred sonority, smooth even sound and extraordinary blowing ease. The reed vibrates in total freedom, producing a very flexible sound. Greater ease of expression.
This ligature would be suitable for an intermediate or professional player, looking for a top-quality ligature to facilitate great ease of expression, with freedom.

I bought this to replace a ligature that got deformed and it works exactly as expected. The finish is beautiful and won’t tarnish like the silver one did. Allows for a great tone and holds reed securely. Does not slip or slide. Easy to use. Perfect for users at all levels.
With the new ligature I find the clarinet easier to blow and the clarity and tone has certainly improved.
The ligature plays beautifully and gives a richer sound.
The ligature is exactly what I hoped - secure feeling, easy to affix to the mouthpiece, and the pink gold version has a nice warmth and richness of tone compared to the more strident silver one I already had. I use the plate number 3 with just four points of contact with the reed. It produces a good response in all registers with V12 3.5 and BD5 or Backun Signature mouthpieces. This is a very sturdy ligature.
