The Vandoren ebonite clarinet mouthpiece range is the most comprehensive and acclaimed selection in the world. Made in France to a high level of consistency with various designs to suit all types of playing.
The Profile version has a shallower beak angle than the standard range, this is an external difference only as the models are otherwise identical. The beak angle can affect how the mouthpiece sits in the mouth and some players prefer this shallower angle, the best way to know is to try a standard and profile in the same model and see which feels most comfortable for you.
For many years and across all genres the vast majority of clarinet professionals, teachers and players have at some stage used a Vandoren mouthpiece. With options from very close tip openings to very wide and with short facings and long there is an answer for most playing situations and personal preferences.

Vandoren Profile Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece Reviews
Have been using Dawkes, since they were in Uxbridge. This mouthpiece is easy to use and comfortable to play. Nice sound and articulation is very good. I also use a BD5 but I also find it tiring to play for extended periods. This mouthpiece perhaps lacks a little of the darkness of the BD5 but I can play on it all day if needed and that really helps at times. 5RV Lyre, perhaps a little old school but it works and is incredibly easy to live with.
Needed more power and projection for shows and Big Band gigs, I mouthpiece certainly delivers that, and also has better tuning in high register of my clarinet (R13) bonus!
An excellent mouthpiece for when the tip opening of the 5JB is too much.
