The Vandoren V12 Alto Sax reeds have a thicker heel and tip than the Traditional blue box.
The longer palette also gives a richer, deeper sound and the thicker tip gives body to the attack and also increases the longevity of the reed. Please note the V12 reeds are usually around a half strength softer than the Traditional Vandoren blue box exquivalent.
These V12 Alto reeds are commonly used and preferred by Classical players using Selmer S80 mouthpieces, or Vandoren Optimum and similar models.
