Solid case & positive spring closure. Elasticated black band holds the reed flat againts a glass or perspex plate. The width of each section is a bit snug so take care inserting & removing a reed. If a new reed has raised fibres that snag on the black band, gently rub the reed with clean smooth paper to remove the fibres.
