The Yamaha YCL-255 is one of the most widely recommended student clarinets in the country, and for good reason. The ABS resin body is genuinely durable and completely untroubled by the temperature and humidity changes that give wooden instruments problems, which makes it ideal for school, travel and a beginner still learning to look after an instrument.
Yamaha's build quality is the reason teachers keep specifying it. The tuning is reliable, the keywork is well laid out for smaller hands and the tone is clean and even, so a beginner is not fighting the instrument while they learn. It will comfortably take a player from their first lesson through to around Grade 5.
This particular example is in fair condition. The silver-plated keywork is in good condition, however there are a fair amount of chips on the surface of the ABS plastic body. Like all our pre-owned instruments it has been fully checked and set up in our workshop prior to sale by one of our experienced technicians, so you can buy with total confidence.
It is supplied with the original Yamaha case and Yamaha 4C mouthpiece. At this price it represents a considerable saving on the new equivalent, and it is ready to play from the moment it arrives.
