Yamaha’s brand new YCL-CSVR-ASP clarinets have been specially refined and perfected in Yamaha’s Ateliers. Significant modifications and upgrades have been made to the YCL-CSVR model including tapered tone holes and hand-tapered undercutting. Unique ergonomically shaped A and register keys improve the feel and playability of the instrument, as do the new screw-type linkages in the left hand F/C and the improved lift linkage on the Eb lever.
Specifications:
- The unique diamond shaped initial plate introduced on the flagship line up unmistakably identifies Yamaha high-end clarinets. It is easily recognisable from a distance, clearly distinguishing Yamaha artists and the instruments they use
- CSVR-ASP models feature the tenon rings, for improved definition and projection
- The newly designed lift linkage system on Eb lever achieves smoother key action
- An ergonomically engineered shape that offers a more natural, comfortable playing feel has been adopted for the A and register keys
- Screw type linkage improves playing feel and reduces wear
- Two barrels of different length, 65mm and 66mm are supplied. The player can choose the barrel that is best suited to the pitch of the performance
- A traditional case and multifunction case cover are provided. Materials and construction are first class, ideally matched to the fine instrument they protect
- Tapered tone holes with hand-tapered undercut
We’ve always loved the great playability and warm, rich sounds of the YCL-CSVR, and this Atelier version only enhances an already great clarinet. More projection, even better performance through the dynamic range of the instrument and more control and sonority at the top dynamics make this a great option for most players whether you’re playing with and projecting over a big symphony orchestra or a wind band playing at full blast!

I am slowly and carefully blowing in this lovely new instrument but so far I am loving the ease of everything. The keyword fits my fingers so well and allows for a fluid tone. Faster passages are so much easier to play. 12th and octaves are in tune. I am a returning player after a break of 30 plus years. I use to play an Imperial 926 which I no longer have, more recently to get back started I bought a Buffet Prodige which did the job o go getting me started again but the Yamaha is going to take me to new places. High notes are so much easier and movement across the registers feels very natural. I would recommend the Yamaha CSVR
