The CXII is the first of the Yamaha Custom range, which are hand finished and crafted. The CXII model has a full round sound with an immediate clarity to the tone. It has inset toneholes and a silver-plated bell ring, which contribute to the presence and openness of its tone, ideal for the player specialising in solo or band playing.
The Custom CXII offers the professional clarinettist a darker more powerful sound giving the player more versatility. Being the first in the range of custom series clarinets it has all of the benefits of a handcrafted clarinet at a very competitive price.

It took me a few days to get used to the instrument but once I got used to the different tone and play of the instrument, I’m very pleased with the purchase. I am finding the short initial playing frustrating but understand why it’s done that way but realise that it’s also making me take my time to get to know the instrument.
