The New Yanagisawa TWO37 model replaces the T9937. As part of the Yanagisawa Solid Silver range the TWO37 has a Solid Silver neck, body, bow and bell - the ultimate in silver!
The new TW range from Yanagisawa benefits from the following upgrades:
- The body tube bore size and tone hole sizes and positions have all been modified to improve the overall resonance, intonation and response.
- The right hand 'pinky' keys (low Eb + low C) have been modified in shape and feel to facilitate faster finger movement at the lower end of the instrument.
- The front F key has been ergonomically re-designed to sit more easily under the players finger when operated
- Additional 'feet' have been added under the right hand side keys (Bb, C and high E) this is to give the mechanism more support and a more positive feel for the player when depressing those keys
Finishing off the outfit is a new case and new engraving which of course is all wholly aesthetic but a nice touch nonetheless.
All in all these Yanagisawa Solid Silver saxes represent the pinnacle of modern Sax production with a truly unique tone.
More from one of our Sax Specialists Nick Blake:
"The crook, body, bow and bell of these elegant saxophones are crafted with solid sterling silver and engraved by hand.
There are a plethora of superb design specs to these fine specimens of saxophone ingenuity to speak of, but what is equally if not more important are the magnificent features you don't see. The relationship between a musician and instrument is a personal and intimated bond forged over time. It's subjective to the player. Upon testing these beauties I felt an immediate connection.
The feel is impeccable, my hands instantly moulded to the indented white shell keys like slipping on a custom made suit. The strong tone quality boasts a purity, richness and warmth I found delectably unique and satisfying. The projection and control is embracing. From soulful ballads, funk, be-bop, classical, ska or pop these horns will give you that extension of yourself to deliver on any style of music.
I won't give away all the treats! I invite you to bring your mouthpiece and sling to experience the thrill and elation of these beautifully crafted works of art. Hook up and take yourself on a journey you won't want to return from...Be a part of the cutting edge!"
