AIZEN SO Soprano Saxophone Mouthpiece – Product Description

The AIZEN SO soprano saxophone mouthpiece is engineered to solve the notorious fluidity and response problems that plague soprano pieces, both vintage and modern. Handmade in Japan with a special round chamber and short shank, it delivers a punchy yet rich tone with superb fluidity across the full range of the instrument. The design prioritises even response and centring, eliminating dead spots and response inconsistencies that frustrate soprano players.

What sets the SO apart is its full, rich bottom end paired with real clarity and edge when pushed in the upper register. More vibrant than AIZEN's LS model, the SO offers the kind of consistency soprano players crave—a mouthpiece that plays predictably from low Bb right through to altissimo without the tonal seams or intonation shifts typical of lesser soprano pieces. Jazz players favour the 6 and 7 tip openings, whilst classical soloists often prefer the C* for its warm, focused character.

Soprano saxophone players know the instrument's sensitivity can feel like a liability. The SO transforms this into an asset: the design's inherent responsiveness connects directly to player intention, rewarding precise embouchure control with effortless articulation and seamless register transitions. Whether navigating fast bebop lines or sustaining lyrical passages, this mouthpiece stays fluid and centred.
