The latest release from Canadian manufacturers Backun is this fantastic TM Vocalise mouthpiece. Carrying on from their Clarinet & Alto Sax versions, the TM Vocalise for Soprano Sax offers an exceptionally even tone across the whole range of the instrument.

Designed by Richard Hawkins for Timothy McAllister, the new TM Vocalise mouthpiece for Soprano Sax offers players exquisite ease of articulation, and control across the registers. The beak shape/angle has been very carefully designed to offer players exceptional comfort which reduces fatigue when playing for longer periods.

The sound this mouthpiece helps produce is primarily geared towards the classical player. It has a very warm and attractive sound but laced with just enough punch and clarity to help the user project through an ensemble when required. Like all the Backun Vocalise mouthpiece range this Soprano model is flawlessly finished on a CNC machine which offers superb consistency.

Very good but not as good as the alto mouthpiece so far. It may just take longer to adapt. I am looking forward to testing it for longer and finding the correct reed to go with it. I had to change reeds when i changed to the Alto version so I am expecting the same with this soprano one.
