The JodyJazz DV HR Tenor Sax mouthpiece offers free blowing power with a big fat versatile sound. Derived from the original DV metal models, these new HR versions still use the patented secondary window in the reed table which adds mid and low harmonics. The result is a Tenor mouthpiece that has an authoritative and full sound.
The challenge of any good HR Tenor Sax mouthpiece is to afford enough power whilst retaining the lush, full tonal quality that players seek at lower volumes. The design of this DV HR Tenor model features a long straight and somewhat high baffle which gives the projection required. Importantly though the chamber shape and proportions give depth back to the sound and help balance the bite with plenty of rich sonority.
The DV HR Tenor mouthpiece features a bite plate embedded into the back of the mouthpiece. Not only does it look good but it's a neat practical touch. We'd still suggest using a mouthpiece patch on top of it to help with longevity. The mouthpiece is finished with a gold-plated brass ring on the shank to add strength and solidity to the core.
