The Jody Jazz DV NY Tenor produces a darker, less bright tone than the more contemporary DV model. The deep baffle and chamber design create a beautiful classic jazz sound reminiscent of the masters of the 1950s and 1960s. This mouthpiece appeals to straight-ahead jazz players seeking a warm, vintage voice with genuine musicality and control.

Based on the proven DV design but with significant modifications—most notably a deep full chamber—the DV NY has earned genuine enthusiasm from players coming from vintage Otto Link backgrounds and others. While it has slightly more resistance than the DV, it remains very free-blowing with an effortless quality. The proprietary Golden Section proportions create a chamber/bore/facing combination that enhances harmonics and produces a rich, full sound.

Available in a variety of sizes including 6 (.090), 7 (.100), 7* (.105), and 8* (.115), the DV NY Tenor rewards thoughtful reed selection and delivers consistency across the range. We recommend the DV NY Tenor for jazz musicians seeking authentic vintage tone without modern edge or projection.
