Legere reeds are made from a special polymer compound with a very fine microtexture. They have low density, so that they float, just like cane reeds. This hi-tec material is designed to mimic the properties of damp cane as closely as possible.
The lifespan of these synthetic style reeds can be reportedly months and make a great, consistent sound.
The Classic Legere has a thicker tip than the Signature model and is a thicker overall profile resulting in a dark sound that also has brightness thanks to the material used.

I didn’t realise how significant the type of Reed used could make. I really like the Legere Reed, excellent sound
Lower star rating mainly because I’m using the plastic reeds for the first time so not sure if some of the squeaks and squeals are down to me or the Reed. However, the sound is a lot brighter and as some of the information says, may be better when playing outside. That said, once I’m used to it I’ll probably increase the star rating.
Item is performing as expected
A real solution to an eternal clarinet players problem. Pruduces a real sweet tone
It's handy to have a reed in the case that always works. It is not as responsive as I would like but they are handy for travel or challenging weather conditions.
Still getting used to this. Useful to be able to use without preparation, bit harder than the number indicated, slightly breathy tone which I hope will improve with use. One cavil: comes packed in cardboard only so you have to have some sort of reed case. Not cheap!
I thought I would give synthetic reeds a try. Not bad straight out of the box and no preparation required but they just don't cut it in terms of sound quality when compared with a cane reed.
Quick posting and great service easy to use website
Levere classic Reed. A little harder than expected but good for emboucher development practice. Found a half strength softer more suitable for me. Expensive but should last.
