Mitchell Lurie reeds (Standard not Premium) are unfiled and feature a thinner tip, for ease of response, combined with a thicker spine. The result is a more resistant reed with a warmer sound.
Mitchell Lurie was a clarinet virtuoso who died in 2009, he was famed both for high-calibre performances of classical music and as a solo player with Hollywood's RKO studio orchestras recording music in the great Hollywood years of film. Apparently the composer Leonard Bernstein called him 'the premier clarinettist in motion picture music, and indeed in the world'.

I was very disappointed with the reeds that arrived because they were not the reeds advertised, so I did not received what I had ordered! When I questioned this, I was told that the manufacturers had changed the packaging but the information and name of the reeds were different and I believe the website should have shown the product I would receive. I tried one reed and it did not play well. On contacting customer services again, I was then offered a refund but it cost me £4 to return the reeds, so I am out of pocket for being sent something different from what was advertised. I am not happy.
These are excellent clarinet reeds-good sound quality. The reeds came quickly and were at a good price.
They work well. WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT A BOX OF REEDS?
I use these reeds all the time. Good sound quality and easy to play.
Mitchell Lurie are always good.
These reeds are always very consistent and of excellent value for money.
Good product with very competitive price
These reeds are fantastic. I have struggled to find reeds that I like and was unsure about these as a friend was very uncomplimentary. But I took the leap and truly, they are extroadinary. They last a long time and they play with a lovely sound from low to high. Notes I previously had trouble with come out beautifully. A great buy.
