The Otto Link Super Tone Master is arguably the most iconic metal alto saxophone mouthpiece in jazz history. Built from a single piece of brass using modern precision engineering through partnership with Theo Wanne Mouthpieces, it delivers the defining Link character: a thick, resonant core, a powerful low end, and a response that moves seamlessly from intimate warmth to commanding projection without losing its identity.
This Theo Wanne partnership brings tighter control over internal geometry and dimensional consistency, ensuring that every Super Tone Master delivers authentic Link voice with modern reliability and confidence.
For alto players, the Super Tone Master strikes a rare balance between a tone dark and warm enough to blend seamlessly in a section, and projection powerful enough to cut through when leading. It responds equally well to soft, expressive phrasing in ballads or assertive, driving playing in uptempo jazz — giving you the flexibility to shape your voice across the full range of alto's musical roles.
Whether you're blending in a section, playing lead in a combo, or stepping forward as a soloist, the Super Tone Master remains the metal mouthpiece alto players trust for authentic Link character with the precision that modern players expect. A performance to professional level instrument designed for both solo and ensemble performances.

Getting used to it. I really like it.
Almost too bright at first but after a few hours of "playing" with the sound (and maybe trying few ligatures), you'll discover its qualities. With my FL Ultimate ligature - a bit too bright and the leather ligature took the edge off the sound so I even settled on the original D'Addario ligature which came with the mouthpiece. For those looking for more powerful, bright and edgy sound - excellent choice!
This is my third Otto Link mouthpiece Soprano, alto and tenor. This one was for my alto and it place great as I was expecting it to. Small criticism is that Otto Link do not lubricate the ligature screw and if you use it dry it can twist the reed on the table of the mouthpiece. Lubricating the screw does gives a betterclamping force.
A great mouthpiece, unlike some metal mouthpieces for Alto, this one doesn't sound too bright and sharp. Tone can be punchy when required, but can also deliver a mellower sound.
