Very solid tone. Much different and improved from mouthpiece that came with sax
I had this mouthpiece years ago, so knew exactly what to get and it hadn't changed a bit.
This mouthpiece is lovely, easy to play and with a good rich sound. Nervous to buy without trying it but it is just right. Intonation much improved from the mp that came with my sax and it\'s easier to control it when I hit the dodgy notes.its a very tight fit so I\'ve had to sand the cork. Better than too loose.
The ligature however is awful, so I bought a Selmer one which is good. Most mps don\'t include a ligature so that\'s ok. Star off for that but I\'m still very happy. Be prepared to spend another £25 or so on top for a better ligature.
As for the mouthpiece itself, an Otto Link ebonite Tone Edge for soprano, I found it very good value and a real step up the mouthpiece that came with the instrument - even though that was a Yamaha. Unfortuantely its ligature fits quite badly - hence only four stars. Fortunately I have spares and I expect a Rovner Star series lig would be a good cheap substitute.
