In commemoration and celebration of their 90th anniversary, jj Babbitt Company has introduced the new Otto Link Vintage mouthpiece for tenor sax. Several years in the making, the Otto Link Vintage mouthpiece recaptures the sound of early Otto Links. 

A combination of changes both inside and out; body shape, bore, chamber, baffle, side rails and tuning, recaptures the Otto Link sound of yesteryear, setting it apart from the current Otto Link Super Tone Master (STM). The Vintage has the largest chamber of any production metal Link for Tenor and this results in a dark, tubby and beefy sound. The rollover baffle is modified in design compared to the NY and STM versions and this also contributes to the variation in tone and response.

In summary, the Vintage is great if you want that 'old school' Tenor sound and like the feel of a big large chamber mouthpiece. The pay off is perhaps the sound is quite spread and so if you want a more direct, lively and centred sound then perhaps you'd be better looking at the Super Tone Master standard model.
