The YOB-431B is made of top quality aged and seasoned grenadilla wood for a rich professional sound. This is the same material as Yamaha use on their Custom models and it has been carefully crafted in a similar manner. The 431B is a Simplified Conservatoire model (semi-automatic octave system). This particular example also has the benefit of a Ton Kooiman thumbrest fitted for the right hand thumb which makes holding the Oboe even easier. The instrument is also supplied with the original metal thumbrest so the next user can choose which they prefer to use.
This upgrade model YOB-431B is aimed at the advancing player who is moving up from a student model. The wooden body, advanced internal bore shaping and additional keywork make it ideal to progress from Grade 4/5 up to Grade 8 level. This particular example is in very nice clean condition, the pads, keys and wood are all very clean and well cared for.
This YOB-431B model features accurate intonation, a balanced response, and exquisite tone: truly professional quality at an intermediate model price. The 431 has a semi-automatic octave system and the keys are hand-adjusted by experienced artisans for superb playability.
