This is a nice example of a Conn 6M 'Naked Lady' Alto Sax. The instrument is in excellent mechanical order and has been set-up in our workshop prior to sale so you can be sure it's blowing beautifully. We have replaced pads where necessary, and left others which still have a good life span. All the routine regulation and venting has been checked and adjusted where necessary. The instrument has no signs of major wear or any previous dent or re-soldering work. The body is very clean and free of dents as is the crook.

In our opinion this is an early re-lacquered model. The re-lac has been done extremely well and the engraving is still nicely showing on the bell and we have priced the instrument accordingly.

The 6M has a beautiful sound which is unique compared to modern day saxes, the underslung neck gives a feeling of immediacy to the tone and perhaps more brightness in the attack. The rolled tone holes add a roundness to the sound and perhaps again add to the immediacy of sound production. This instrument also has pearl rollers and the swivel right hand thumb hook.
